KISSES ON HIS HEAD
A year ago today
Our beloved Searcy passed away.
We miss him so much --
His joyful laughter, voice, and touch.
How he loved getting hugs and kisses
From every youngster, Miss, and Mrs.
And, his arms would open wide
To draw you nearer his side.
I remember at the hospital as Searcy lay in bed,
How the women left lipstick kisses all over his precious head.
And, a young guy at the door looked in to see
This generous, joyful 93 year-old man still getting more kisses than he!
Searcy lived life well and carried the message with zest.
We, too, can bring this enthusiasm to the rest.
For we are NOT a glum lot, by far, we are NOT!
And, know that if we were loved by Searcy, we ARE loved a lot!
And, love carries on.
